The first content Patch of Cataclysm is just around the corner and it is jam packed full of changes for all different types of classes. I will take you through the General and Druid Specific changes in the upcoming Patch Notes and how they affect you as a whole.
General
- Honor is now purchasable from the Justice Commodities Vendor at 250 Honor per 375 Justice.
- Justice is now purchasable from the Honor Commodities Vendor at 250 Justice per 375 Honor.
- Conquest is now purchasable from the Valor vendor at 250 Conquest per 250 Valor.
You can now convert your Justice Points into Honor Points and vice versa. This makes it easier for people who are strictly PvP to get into the PvE scene and vice versa. There's a Catch 22 where you really can't PvE/PvP successfully without having any gear but you can't get gear unless you PvE/PvP. This will help me quite a bit because I personally have a hard time doing BGs because A: I have no gear so I die a whole lot and B: I don't seem to get a ton of honor because as a healer I just tend to get a lower honor percentage because I have no Killing Blows unless I have time to Moonfire spam someone to death in between heals.
- A dead player can now be resurrected by targeting them using the Party or Raid Frame even if they have released. No more hunting for corpses.
Thank you, Blizzard. Enough said here. Hopefully this will work with Grid.
Druids
- Efflorescence has a new spell effect.
I really like the new spell effect. It's no longer affected by Particle Density so if you have it turned off you can still see the radius of it which is extremely nice since I don't have the most amazing video card.

| 4.1.0 Efflorescence's New Spell Effect |
- Lifebloom's bloom effect has been reduced by 20%.
Great... because Druid's needed a nerf... seriously. This will make us significantly less good tank healers. Oh, and if any like Raid Leaders/Guild Masters are watching... STOP PUTTING DRUIDS ON TANK HEALING DUTY! That is NOT what Druid healers were made for and we have very little tank healing abilities. Our whole healing output is putting HoTs on a bunch of people so putting a Druid on tank healing duty is completely defeating the purpose of our class. Stop doing it.
- Druids now innately have 100% pushback protection from damage while channeling Tranquility.
Thank you! It really sucks when you pop Tranquility and something comes and attacks you and you lose like three ticks of a mass heal because one of Maloriak's adds decides to come punch you in the face. This also affects Priests heals which is also extremely nice!
- Malfurion's Gift now reduces the cooldown of Tranquility by 2.5/5 minutes.
Yes! Okay, yeah I know this is SO getting nerfed like immediately like are you kidding me? Cho'Gall is like a 10 minute fight. With a 5 minute reduction, now making it a 3 minute cooldown that means we can now use it three times during that fight. There is NOOOOO possible way in the world that they will let this stay long during live because it will just be SOOOOO overpowered.
- Efflorescence has been redesigned. It creates a healing zone at the feet of a Swiftmend target, but this healing zone now restores health equal to 4/8/12% of the amount healed by Swiftmend to the three most injured targets within 8 yards, every 1 second for 7 seconds. This periodic effect now also benefits from spell haste, but the individual ticks cannot be critical effects. In addition, Living Seed is no longer a prerequisite talent for Efflorescence.
Again, thank you (except for the ticks can't crit part >:l)! Living Seed was such a useless talent but we HAD to take it because we needed Efflorescence for the AoE healing that is so needed in Cataclysm (yes, I have changed my thoughts on Efflorescence because of the recent changes). This gives us 3 extra talents that we can put into our tree. The current Restoration tree is so completely cluttered right now in Live. There are a lot of talents that we really should be taking but we can't if we don't want to go above 31 talents. And getting rid of this prerequisite makes it a ton less cluttered.
- Nature's Swiftness now also increases the healing done by th eaffected nature spell by 50%.
By the way, that's Blizzard's typo on their main website not mine. Just sayin' Blizz, you got all that money, might wanna have your staff proof read their stuff. Anyway, to the talent. This change might actually make this talent worth picking up. At the moment, since the Restoration tree is so cluttered and since we focus more on our HoTs a lot of Resto Druids choose not to pick up this talent since it's more of a tank heal in general. However, if they add 50% extra healing in addition to making it an instant cast this will give us an even stronger tank heal or just save an idiot dps who stands in fire to get that extra Fireball off... Mages....
Sinestra
- Twilight Slicer is now less likely to target two helers at once
This is again, no use to us at all, just another typo I wanted to laugh at.
Well. We pretty much made out pretty well for this patch. I was a little surprised about the Lifebloom nerf since it's not as strong as other classes big heals (Paladin Divine Light, Priest Greater Heal....) and it isn't something that we can control. I mean you can throw Lifebloom on the tank and you don't know if the Paladin healer is gonna spam Divine Light til he's topped off right before your Lifebloom blooms and makes that big heal a complete waste. Tranquility got some huge buffs, some of which I don't think will last long. And Efflorescence and Nature's Swiftness have now become a lot less sucky.
Go With Honor and Lok'tar Ogar!
